What We Do

PET BOTTLE RECYCLING PROCESS

How It Works

Collection

1

PET bottles are collected from various sources, including households, businesses, recycling centers, and waste management facilities. Collection methods can vary and may include curbside recycling programs, drop-off points, or specialized collection centers.

Sorting

2

Once collected, the PET bottles are sorted based on their color, size, and type. This step helps in separating PET bottles from other types of plastic and non-recyclable materials. Automated sorting technologies, such as optical scanners and conveyer belts, are often used to enhance efficiency.

Cleaning

3

After sorting, the PET bottles undergo a cleaning process. Labels, caps, and other contaminants are removed. The bottles are thoroughly washed to eliminate any leftover residue, such as liquids, dirt, or food particles. The cleaning process is crucial to ensure the purity of the PET material.

Shredding and Grinding

4

Cleaned PET bottles are then shredded or ground into small flakes or granules. This step increases the surface area of the PET material, making it easier to process in subsequent stages.

Washing and Drying

5

The shredded PET flakes or granules go through additional washing and drying processes to remove further impurities, such as glue, ink, or residual contaminants. The washing and drying processes utilize hot water, detergents, and mechanical agitation to achieve a high degree of cleanliness.

Pelletizing

6

The clean and dry PET flakes or granules are melted and transformed into small pellets through a process called pelletizing. This step involves heating the PET material and then extruding it through a die to create cylindrical pellets. The pellets are cooled and solidified for ease of handling and transportation

Manufacturing

7

The PET pellets are then used as raw material in the manufacturing of a wide range of products, including new PET bottles, polyester fibers for textiles, strapping materials, and packaging containers. The pellets can be melted, molded, and formed into various shapes according to specific product requirements.
